Sunrisers Hyderabad are about to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 41 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Ahead of the game, RCB Captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bat first.
Coming into the game on the back of four consecutive wins, Sunrisers made one change to their playing XI by benching all-rounder Washington Sundar. The all-rounder has played two matches in the season so far and hasn’t scored any runs on the only delivery he’s faced. With the ball, the off-spinner has picked up just one wicket from two innings.

The SRH management brought in left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat. In the five matches played so far in the season, Unadkat has picked four wickets so far at an average of 48.75 and an economy of 11.35. On the other hand, despite losing their last six fixtures on the trot, RCB didn’t make any changes in their playing XI. In a major blow to the side, their star batter Glenn Maxwell continues to remain unavailable who has pulled out of IPL 2024 due to physical and mental fatigue.
The fixture is extremely crucial for the Faf du Plessis-led side as another loss in the tournament will push them out of the playoff race. They’re precariously poised at the last spot on the points table with one win from eight matches having two points to their name. Having their back against the wall, the three-time runner-ups will bring their ‘A game’ to the fore and will be determined to surprise the high-flying Sunrisers.
