Leading the list of the batsman with most runs in a bilateral series in ODI is Rohit Sharma of India. He achieved the feat in Australia’s tour of India in 2013/14 as he went on to amass 491 runs from the 6 matches that were completed in the series with the help of 2 centuries and 1 fifty at an average of 122.75. In that tour, Rohit Sharma flourished as an opener as he went on to score a double century, his then highest score of 209. He hit 45 fours and 23 sixes in the whole series.

Note: There are batsman who have scored more runs in a series, but all of them have either been achieved in mega tournaments like World Cup, Champions Trophy or Series involving 3 or more teams.
