The former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni seldom makes the newspapers for his off the field actions. However, his wife Sakshi Dhoni somehow manages to make it to the news this time. MS Dhoni’s wife was summoned by Delhi court in February 2016 and is most likely to appear before the law.

The real estate company Amrapali she had stake in has been dragged to court by investors and thus Sakshi has also been linked in the case. MS Dhoni was also the brand ambassador of the group but discontinued the relationship a year ago after a Twitter campaign against Amrapali.

Even though the MS and Sakshi are not associated with the group anymore their previous relations are enough to drag her to the court. Along with her the judge has also summoned the chairman and directors of the group. The reason behind this is rather run-of-the-mill.

Back in 2007, two residents of Vishnu Garden invested an amount close to ten lakhs in a flat in an Amrapali project. The deal consisted of certain returns which were promised by the group with the possession of the flat.

As the residents, Anita Kumar and Padma Chand didn’t get the possession and the returns were not delivered either they moved to the court. Sakshi was the directors of the group during the time and thus she is a party to the case. Sumit Kaushal the advocate of the victims told the reporters.

Over 4000 buyers have been waiting for possession for almost one and a half year. With recession in the real estate market, the Amrapali group is struggling to keep up with the construction of the project.

“Earlier, my clients were getting returns at 14 percent interest but now since last year, even that has stopped. They have given the postdated cheques but they have been dishonored,” Kaushal was quoted saying back in January.
