Sunil Narine’s action cleared, ready for IPL: The Kolkata Knight Rider’s (KKR), all their fans and many back home in the Caribbean will jump in joy as they hear that Sunil Narine’s action has been cleared and the bowler is not certified fit to bowl in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 8.
Narine had first been reported and then was banned from participating in any of the BCCI organized events last year as his action was termed illegal. The bowler was then pulled down from participating in any further tournaments by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and was ordered to alter his action.
Narine successfully remodeled his action and was cleared by the ICC technical committee in March, which made him fit to bowl in international matches. But the BCCI following its own norms had asked the West Indian and his franchise KKR to make the bowler pass a bowling test at a BCCI centre to make him eligible for IPL.
There was quite a tussle over the issue with KKR even threatening to pull out of the IPL season 8 if Narine was made to undergo any further tests. Falling to the pressure from the board, on Thursday the mystery bowler underwent a bowling test at Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai.
On clarification of the report of this test he has been given a green signal to take part in the upcoming season of the IPL which is just 3 days away. This is a huge boost for the KKR as their bowling completely depends on Narine; who has been their best bowler across seasons.
