Watch: Chris Gayle, Mandeep Singh and Virat Kohli do a ‘Bhangra’ in the RCB dressing room: The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) v Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was affected by rain, from the fear of the game being washed out it was cut short to a ten over’s per side contest which rather spiced things up. Batting first KKR put up a winnable 111-4 on board in their allotted quota. It was a brilliant knock from all-rounder Andre Russell which got them there. In the second innings the KKR bowlers were just where they should have been Brad Hogg and his spin mate Piyush Chawla gave RCB irreparable blows and the most diligent RCB fans started losing hope.

That was when they had a new star emerging, we had seen Mandeep Singh do it for KXIP in the past; he played a supportive knock in the previous games. But tonight was his chance to take the center stage and shine brighter than all other stars. Mandeep played a match winning knock of 45 not out from just 18 balls which in the end overshadowed Russell’s innings and Bangalore won their first home game this season with 7 wickets and two balls to spare.

An emphatic and morale boosting win like that deserves a mightier celebration, the party has to be brighter and it started as soon as the boys went back into the dressing room.
