In a riveting clash in Ahmedabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) showcased their dominance with a resounding nine-wicket victory over Gujarat Titans.

Asked to bat first after losing the toss, Gujarat Titans faced early jolts as Wriddhiman Saha fell quickly, caught off Swapnil Singh's bowling. Despite the setbacks, captain Shubman Gill and the explosive Sai Sudharsan steadied the ship with a crucial partnership.

Sudharsan's unbeaten 84 off just 49 deliveries provided the backbone of Gujarat's innings, well-supported by the aggressive M Shahrukh Khan, who blazed to 58 runs from only 30 balls. Their efforts propelled Gujarat to a competitive total of 200/3 in their allotted 20 overs, setting up an intriguing chase for RCB.

However, RCB's response was nothing short of spectacular. Openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis laid a solid foundation, with du Plessis showcasing his intent with a quickfire 24 off 12 balls before being dismissed by Sai Kishore.

Yet, it was Will Jacks who stole the spotlight with an electrifying century. Jacks' explosive innings of 100 runs off just 41 deliveries included a remarkable ten sixes, leaving the Gujarat bowlers reeling. His aggressive approach, combined with Kohli's composed 70 not out, ensured RCB's victory in just 16 overs, with a significant nine wickets in hand.

I was just happy to stay around and watch Will Jacks go: Virat Kohli

After the match, Kohli praised Jacks' performance, describing it as phenomenal. Kohli highlighted Mohit Sharma's over as pivotal and expressed delight in the team's swift victory, attributing it to improved pitch conditions.

"Phenomenal, initially when he [Jacks] came to bat, he was annoyed that he wasn't able to strike the ball as he wanted to. The only talk was to for him to stay calm, we know how explosive he can be when he gets going. The over from Mohit [Sharma] was the game changer, I was just happy to stay around and watch him go. I thought we would win in 19 overs, but to do it in 16 was absolutely brilliant. The wicket did start to get better as the first innings wore on, the ball was coming nicely onto the bat," Kohli said after the match as quoted by Cricbuzz.
