<p>The sudden boom of the All-rounder Vijay Shankar was something which even he wouldn’t have expected. To start with, he is a batting all-rounder who is a hard hitter and is a handy medium-paced bowler.</p>
<p>He debuted for the Indian side in T20I against <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/mickey-arthur-steps-down-as-sri-lanka-head-coach-to-join-derbyshire-next/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Sri Lanka</strong></a>. He has played nine T20I matches and has hit 101 runs with an average strike rate of 25.25 and 138.36, respectively. He has also taken five wickets with an economy of 9.1. It was a shocker when the newbie was selected to the Indian World Cup team in 2019 ahead of a player like Ambati Rayudu.</p>
<p>On playing 12 ODI matches, he has scored 223 runs and has taken four wickets in his short stint. He last represented India in the 2016 World Cup against West Indies and was dropped from the squad later. He suddenly rose to fame by playing in the World Cup and more suddenly by the downfall he experienced.</p>

<p>Rahul Sharma is a right-arm-leggie who represented the Indian national team. He is a tall leggie who can bowl swift googlies. He came into the limelight after his impressive bowling performances in IPL 2011 for Pune Warriors.</p>
<p>Rahul made his ODI debut under Virender Sehwag in 2011 against West Indies and he impressed in his first match itself by taking three wickets and giving just 43 runs in 10 overs. He has played four matches in ODIs and has taken six wickets with a career economy of 5.16.</p>
<p>This 35-year-old player has played two T20I matches and has picked three wickets. But to the question of why didn’t he play many matches, he answered in an interview that his back and shoulder injury affected his rhythm and has not played competitive cricket since 2014.</p>

<p>Jackson Bird is an <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/the-ashes-2021-usman-khawaja-earns-a-recall-to-the-australian-test-squad-for-the-first-two-tests/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Australian</strong></a> Test bowler who is known for his high-arm action and for hitting the pitch hard. He took 100 wickets in just about 20 odd matches in first-class cricket which made him visible for the selector’s eyes.</p>
<p>This 6-feet-bowler made his international Test debut in 2012 against Sri Lanka and he took four wickets just in 22 overs in both innings combined. He has played nine Test matches and has taken 34 wickets which includes a fifer.</p>
<p>Bird’s career started to fade away as he became wicketless and in heavy competent Australian pacers, he failed to make his mark and was replaced by the other better players. This 34-year-old player donned the Test jersey last in 2017 against England.</p>

<p>Abhinav Mukund is an Indian opening left-handed batter who played for Tamil Nadu in the domestic circuit. He has his highest first-class score of 300* and he is a player with a temperament and has the potential to get stuck in the crease for a long time producing runs.</p>
<p>His good records in the domestic circuit earned him the Test cap in 2011 in the place of the rested openers. However, he failed to make an impact in his debut, but his 48 and 62 in his 4<sup>th</sup> and 5<sup>th</sup> innings earned him a spot in the England series but didn’t play well.</p>
<p>Mukund was called back again in 2017 against Sri Lanka and in his 14<sup>th</sup> innings, he scored 81 runs but was not enough for him to impress the selectors further. He was not given a chance after that and in his short journey with the Indian Test team, he has hit 320 runs in 7 matches.</p>
