2. Shikhar Dhawan (Tests)

At the age of 35, Shikhar Dhawan’s Test career is almost done. And, with so much young talent waiting in the wings, it is unlikely that India will once again go back to Dhawan at the top of the order in the Test format. Dhawan last played a Test match for India in September 2018 and has since then fallen out of favor in Test cricket.

In fact, in the year 2018, Dhawan averaged just 27.36, and his poor form resulted in him getting dropped from the Indian Test side. The left-hander has represented the Indian side in 34 Test matches and has scored 2315 runs in the whites at an average of 40.61. But then, Dhawan is still an integral part of the Indian team in limited-overs cricket.

The left-hander has featured in 142 ODI matches for India and has scored 5977 runs in the ODI format at an excellent average of 45.28. In T20I cricket too, he has plundered 1673 runs at an average of 27.88.

Dhawan can formally announce his retirement from Tests so that he can concentrate on scoring runs for the Indian side in limited-overs cricket.
