Chadd Sayers is one of the most promising faces in the Australian domestic cricket setup. With the likes of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and John Hastings ruling the national set up, it becomes tough for a rookie to make a mark. Still, Sayers has been successful in carving a name of his own in the Australian cricket.
Sayers was named in the Australian Test team after the Aussies faced heavy defeats in two consecutive outings against South Africa. A massive overhaul of the setup saw rookies being drafted in for the day-night encounter. Chadd Sayers was one of those to be drafted in the squad.

1. Roots and Beginnings
Chadd Sayers was born on 31 August 1987 at Australia. His father Dean Sayers played cricket for South Australia. It would not be wrong to say that he had cricket in his genes. His brother Aaron Sayers is also a cricketer playing his trade in the domestic circuit of Australia.
2. Early life in Adelaide cricket clubs
Sayers spent a lot of time playing for Woodville in the Adelaide cricket club. Having previously played for Woodville, Sayers now plays for Glenelg in the Adelaide Grade Cricket competition.
3. Rising up the ranks
Sayers made a steady progress in the age groups to play in the South Australia U19s in his early career. Following that, he played several matches for Australia A in 2013 and 2014.
4. Making his First Class debut
Chadd Sayers made his First Class debut in 2011 for South Australia against Tasmania. He could bag just 2 wickets across both innings.
5. Making a name for himself
Chadd Sayers emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the 2012–13 Sheffield Shield trophy, with 48 wickets to his name at an average of 18.52.
6. Player of the season
His brilliant run in the Sheffield Shield of 2012-13 saw him win the Neil Dansie Medal as South Australia’s player of the season.
7. Juggernaut in domestic season
Chadd Sayers is the Sheffield Shield’s leading wicket-taker of the past four years. During that time, Sayers has collected 131 wickets at 23.45.
8. International call
He was picked up for the tour to New Zealand earlier in 2016 but could not get a game. He was then picked up for the day-night Test against South Africa in November.
9. An injury and back in action
Sayers underwent an ankle surgery in late 2014 following which he missed 12 months of cricketing action. He made his comeback in the late 2015-16 season.
10. Leading the 2016 season
As on November 20, 2016, Chadd Sayers is also on top of the Sheffield Shield wicket tally this summer, with 19 at 16.10.
