James Douglas Sheahan Neesham, commonly known as Jimmy Neesham born on 17th September, 1990 in Auckland.

2. First Class debut:

Jimmy Neesham made his first class debut in 2009-10 season for Auckland. However, he moved to Otago where he started to impress everyone.

3. T20 debut:

Jimmy Neesham made his Twenty20 format debut for Auckland in HRV Cup Final in 2009-10 season against Central Districts where he top scored for his side with 39 which came in just 20 balls. However, his side fell short of 78 runs.

4. U19 World Cup:

Jimmy Neesham scored 189 runs in the 6 matches during 2010 U19 World Cup. Only Harry Baom, with 202 runs scored more than Neesham for New Zealand in the tournament.

5. Youth Test:

Jimmy Neesham made his youth Test (U19 Test) debut against England in 2008. James Taylor, Alex Hales and Chris Woakes made their respective youth Test debut in the same game for England.

6. Test debut:

Jimmy Neesham’s 137* against India on Test debut in 2014 was 3rd highest individual score by a New Zealand player on Test debut. It is also the highest score on Test debut by a batsman batting at no.8 or below.

7. Record:

Jimmy Neesham became the 8th player to score a century each in first 2 matches of Test career. He is the only New Zealand player to achieve the feat.

8. Test average:

Jimmy Neesham achieved an average of 277 in Test cricket at end of his 3rd Test innings, which was the highest test average achieved by a New Zealand player. Hamish Marshall achieved 255 after his 3 innings in Test cricket. In overall, only 8 players managed to achieve an average in Tests more than what Jimmy Neesham did.

9. IPL 2014:

Jimmy Neesham went under IPL auction hammer for the first time in 2014, where he was sold for 1 Crore INR from a base price of 30 Lakhs INR. However, he didn’t play any game in the season.

10. IPL 2015:

In 2015 IPL auctions, Jimmy Neesham was brought by Delhi Daredevils for 50 Lakhs INR from a base price of 30 Lakhs INR. He made his IPL debut and featured in 4 matches during the season.
