Paul Valthaty came into spot light after he scored a match winning century for Kings XI Punjab against Chennai Super Kings in 2011. He was a crucial player for KXIP till 2012 where he used to open the innings and score at a great pace. He was one of the few players who recorded 4 wickets and a fifty in same IPL match. However, after 2012 season neither KXIP nor any other team picked him.
