6. Muttiah Muralitharan – Brian Lara

One of the greatest spinners who ever played the game and is also the leading wicket-taker in both Tests and ODIs ,has praised the West Indian legend Brian Lara as the toughest batsman who came across him.

Muralitharan who perhaps had every kind of variation a spinner could in his armoury felt that the reason Lara played him better than others was because of his excellent hand-eye coordination which allowed him to pick his variation quite easily.

Here’s what the legendary spinner said about his peer “I think, of all the batsmen in the world, he plays my bowling better than anyone else, including Sachin Tendulkar. His eyesight and hand co-ordination is very good and he’s able to adjust very quickly to very good deliveries.”
