2. Pant gives it back to Paine

Rishabh Pant was surely going to give it back to Paine, especially when India was on top of the match. Chasing a mammoth target of 399 runs Australia were reduced to 135/5 and Tim Paine came out to bat. Pant was quick to take a jibe at the Aussie skipper.

While talking to Mayank Agarwal who was fielding at silly point, Pant mocked Paine for being the temporary captain and said that he only knows how to talk. “We’ve got a special guest today. Have you heard of a temporary captain ever?” Pant added, “You don’t need anything to get him out boys. He loves to talk, that’s the only thing he can do, only talking talking.”

Tim Paine was hastily appointed the captain for the Australian team on their tour to South Africa in 2018 after Steve Smith was banned for his involvement in the ball-tampering scandal. Smith was banned for playing for Australia for a year and an additional one-year ban from captaincy. Though Paine has done a good job at the helm so far and is likely to continue until the end of the ongoing Test Championship cycle.
