Afghanistan took a 1-0 lead in the 2-match series against Kenya on their tour of the UAE on 30th September 2013. Batting first the Afghans made 162/6 and set a stiff target to their African counterparts. In reply, the Kenyans were bowled out for a paltry 56 in 18.4 overs on a flat track in Sharjah. Kenya though levelled the series by winning the next encounter at the same venue.
