The 2023 ODI World Cup winning Captain from Australia made merry from the IPL auction which happened in the year 2020. Pat Cummins became a top draw and became the most expensive overseas buy ever in the history of the IPL back then. As a result, he also went on to become the second most expensive buy after the former flamboyant Indian batter, Yuvraj Singh.

Speaking of the bidding war which Cummins triggered, at first RCB and DC got themselves into an intense bidding. The magnitude of franchises willing to splurge high and get the services of the talented pacer can be understood by the fact that things took a surprising turn when KKR decided to enter the price contest only after the 15-crore mark. As a result, KKR did not shy away from spending a whopping 15.50 Crores to include Cummins in their squad.

Interestingly enough, due to a heavy cricket schedule and international duties for his country, the pacer decided to skip the IPL 2023 auction. However, he is now making a return as a world champion and there are good chances that he may force the franchises to open their bank balance rather lavishingly this time yet again. Speaking of his T20 experience, Pat Cummins has appeared in 128 games and has taken 143 wickets with best bowling figure of 4/16. During this long journey, he has a fairly good economy of 7.98 given the powerplay factor which most pacers face during the game.
