Shoaib Malik is almost a legendary figure in the shortest format. The cricketer has played most of the big-shot franchise leagues including the IPL. When it comes to playing the domestic leagues of Pakistan, Malik has been part of all the offerings since the beginning. 
However, when it comes to representing at the international level, the 39-year old is already the second-highest run-scorer for Pakistan in T20Is. The veteran all-rounder has appeared for Pakistan in 117 T20Is games and has amassed 2349 runs at an average of over 31. Also, with his right-arm off break bowling, Malik has scalped 28 T20I wickets at an economy of seven.
Playing the shortest format since 2006, Malik has played close to 450 matches as a T20 freelancer. In those appearances, the Pakistani legend has scored more than 11,000 runs along with a total of 152 wickets.

For Pakistan, the all-rounder has been playing T20Is since 2006 and is also the second-highest capped player (115) in T20Is.
In terms of his performances in T20Is, the 41-year old is already Pakistan’s top run-scorer amassing 2440 runs from his 104 outings. The veteran, with his off-break bowling, is also a very handy wicket-scalper and has bagged a total of 61 wickets. Overall, in T20Is, Hafeez is currently the sixth-highest run-scorer and 10th fastest to cross the 2000-run mark. He has played a total of 341 T20 matches and has scored 7325 runs at an average of 25.97.

Ever since the inception of the T20 format, Chris Gayle has been the legendary figure in it. The Universe Boss has possibly played every T20 league of the world and is the highest overall run-scorer of the format. The Jamaican also has the record number of centuries (22) scored along with over a number of 1000-plus sixes being smashed in T20 cricket.
For WI, Gayle has been a two-time World T20 Champion and has so far played 76 T20Is. The southpaw is also the team’s highest run-scorer with a total of 1879 runs in T20Is. Overall, in T20Is, the 41-year old is one of the only seven players who have whacked more than 100 sixes in the shortest format.
Interestingly, when it comes to his entire T20 records, Gayle has in total scored 14,301 runs at an average of 36.66 along with a strike rate of 145.60. The veteran will soon become the first T20 cricketer to face more than 10,000 balls in his T20 career.

T20 cricket, unlike today’s time, was often earlier viewed as a young man’s game. Especially, during its infancy when the youthful Indians lifted the inaugural ICC World T20 glory, the world was convinced that the format can only be leisured by the juvenile and peppy ones. There’s no doubt that David Wiese can be called one of the very active T20 freelancers. The all-rounder has been a part of the CPL and has represented three different teams. Even in the newly launched ‘The Hundred Men’s Competition’, Wiese was a part of the London Spirits franchise. With regards to his IPL journey, the cricketer has only played two seasons (2015, 2016), he has an impressive tally of 16 wickets from his 15 appearances for the RCB franchise. 
In international cricket, the 36-year old earlier represented South Africa from 2013-2016. Wiese has a tally of 24 wickets from 20 games for South Africa, including a fifer against WI. At present, he represents the Namibia national team and the veteran seems to be one of the vital cogs of the side. Coming from an eternal land of T20 freelancers, Lendl Simmons is one of the finest T20 openers across all the global leagues. The cricketer has been active since 2007 and has played the shortest format across the globe. Even when it comes to the IPL, Simmons has won two titles with the MI franchise. Overall, in fact in the world’s toughest T20 league, Simmons averages almost 40 with over 1000 plus runs from his bat.
For West Indies, the 36-year old has been more prolific. Despite being in-and-out of the national T20I squad, Simmons is their third-highest run-scorer. With the ability of also being able to keep wickets along with some seam bowling, this Trinidadian is a multi-utility player for any team.

The current Afghan skipper is now a well-lauded figure in the shortest format. The all-rounder has played the most number of T20I games (82) for his country and is also the team’s second-highest run-scorer. In fact, Nabi has fetched the most number of Player of the Match awards (13) in T20Is. 
The veteran is only second to Rashid Khan with a tally of 72 scalps in T20Is in terms of bagging wickets. As a lively T20 freelancer, Nabi has almost played in every T20 league on the planet but unfortunately is in big due in winning the major leagues like the IPL. Nabi has amassed 4699 runs in his T20 career at a solid strike rate of 141.23.
Overall, the  Afghan legend has also taken a total of 292 wickets, including the best match figures of 5 for 15. All in all, the old master is also one of the elusive spinners who has an economy of under seven in his T20 career.

A tall well-built fast bowler, Ravi Rampaul has been active in international cricket since the year 2003. The pacer had first played his T20I game in 2007 after which a set of injuries have severely affected his white-ball career. Unfortunately, such a big hiatus means Rampaul has only featured in 25 T20Is for WI. 
The 37-year has also played for Trinbago Knight Riders and Barbados Tridents. In the 2021 CPL season, the pacer was the highest wicket-taker as Rampaul scalped 19 wickets from 10 games at an average of 16.21. Also, with regards to his IPL presence, the Trinidadian played for RCB in 2013 and 2014, wherein he bagged 14 wickets from 12 appearances. 
Overall, though the speedster often remains under the darkness of injuries, Rampaul has picked a total of 212 wickets in 165 T20Is at an economy of 7.6.

Kyle Coetzer, at present, is one of the eminent names of Scottish cricket. As a top-order batter, Coetzer has often pulled Scotland out of crises. In the 2009 World T20, Coetzer was the highest run-scorer for Scotland during their main encounters against NZ and SA.
