The 14th edition of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Premier League </a>has been a prodigious season for the fans and the BCCI. After the tournament got suspended in May 2021 due to the rising Covid-19 cases in the bio-bubble and the country at that time, BCCI came forward to resume the tournament again at UAE in September.

BCCI should be given enough credit for the safe and successful cessation of the biggest cricket league in the world. As soon as the 14thedition of the cash-rich tournament got to an end, the IPL Committee tirelessly commenced their duty for the addition of two new teams for the next season. At the end of the auction, the two new teams of Ahmedabad and Lucknow are set to fire up the tournament in 2022.

The existing teams could retain a maximum of four players and the two fresh teams can garner four players each ahead of the mega auction which is to be held in the month of December. Though people have not received the retention list of players yet, it is being assumed that the players on the listicle can be on the wish list of the management if they are open to bid.

The Australian opener David Warner is the number one contender in this listicle. Warner is a pro-captain in franchise cricket and has represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad team since 2014 and has captained the side since 2015.

This 25-year-old doyen has been a brand of the Hyderabad franchise. There has always been a mutual affection between the fans of Hyderabad and Warner as he has been their first captain to win a title for them and he has also grabbed the orange cap thrice when he played for his team.

Lungi Ngidi is a young right-arm pacer from South Africa. He made his international debut for his team in 2017. He holds decent records in his bowling career. He has played 23 T20I matches and has claimed 36 wickets with an economy of 8.97.
He is easily capable of bowling 140 Kph deliveries. The 25-year-old made his debut in IPL in 2018 for Chennai Super Kings. Later he got injuries in 2019 and was dropped from the playing eleven.

The 14th edition of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Premier League </a>has been a prodigious season for the fans and the BCCI. After the tournament got suspended in May 2021 due to the rising Covid-19 cases in the bio-bubble and the country at that time, BCCI came forward to resume the tournament again at UAE in September.
BCCI should be given enough credit for the safe and successful cessation of the biggest cricket league in the world. As soon as the 14thedition of the cash-rich tournament got to an end, the IPL Committee tirelessly commenced their duty for the addition of two new teams for the next season. At the end of the auction, the two new teams of Ahmedabad and Lucknow are set to fire up the tournament in 2022.
The existing teams could retain a maximum of four players and the two fresh teams can garner four players each ahead of the mega auction which is to be held in the month of December. Though people have not received the retention list of players yet, it is being assumed that the players on the listicle can be on the wish list of the management if they are open to bid.
<h2>Foreign players who can benefit from two new IPL franchises</h2>
<h3>1. David Warner</h3>

The Australian opener David Warner is the number one contender in this listicle. Warner is a pro-captain in franchise cricket and has represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad team since 2014 and has captained the side since 2015.
This 25-year-old doyen has been a brand of the Hyderabad franchise. There has always been a mutual affection between the fans of Hyderabad and Warner as he has been their first captain to win a title for them and he has also grabbed the orange cap thrice when he played for his team.
He was sacked from the captaincy and eventually from the team once his ally Kane Williamson took over in 2021 after consecutive losses in the first phase of the league. It is believed that he won’t be continuing for SRH anymore and could get picked in any of the two teams as a captain figure too.

Steve Smith is a noteworthy candidate on this list. He also brings in the captaincy trait along with his batting skills. The two teams would look for an in-built captain as they could build the team around him according to his suggestion as well, for which Smith could be any of the two team’s first choice.
Smudge, as called by the cricketing fraternity stepped into the IPL first time as a replacement for Jesse Ryder in 2010 for RCB. He then consistently represented Rajasthan from 2014-16 and after the suspension of the team, he was made to represent Rising Pune Supergiants for two years in which his stint as a captain in 2017 made the team finish as runners.

Joe Root being a seasoned international cricketer, the one factor which would elude him is an IPL debut. Root debuted his T20I match for<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/they-are-a-dominant-side-aaron-finch-lauds-england-after-their-eight-wicket-win-over-australia/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> England</a> in 2012 and has not been consistent in the 11. He last played in a T20I match in 2019 against Pakistan for the last time since now.
Root had a decent career in T20I with an average of 35.72 and a strike rate of 126.30. He confidently expected to get picked in any of the IPL teams after his performance in the 2016 T20 World Cup. Being a marquee player and even though reducing his base price from 2 cr to 1.5 cr, he still failed to attract bids in 2018.
After 2018, he has not yet entered the auction pool. As per recent reports, his interest to appear in the most-watched cricket league has not faded away, and is about to give a try in the 2022 auction and could hopefully go his way with the arrival of 2 new teams.

Moeen Ali, an English cricketer of Pakistani descent, is a prolific Batting all-rounder. He can surprise the opposition with the ball and as well as the bat. Royal challengers bought him for INR 1.7 crores in the year 2018.
He was not given the chance immediately as they preferred seam bowling all-rounders like Woakes and De Grandhomme. Ali got his chance in the fourth game and won the game for RCB by getting 64 runs which were not enough to convince the RCB management to retain him for next season.
