10. Hat-tricks in very first over:

It was an unbelievable show by left-arm pacer Irfan Pathan against the Pakistanis on the first day of the third Test match in Karachi in 2006. He sent back three out of Pakistan’s top four batsmen in the fourth, fifth and sixth deliveries of the very first over of the match to leave the hosts reeling at none for three. Unfortunately, Pathan’s efforts went in vain as Pakistan came back strongly to hammer India by 341 runs to win the three-game series 1-0.

11. Most number of consecutive ducks in Tests (5):

Former Indian all-rounder Ajit Agarkar jointly holds the record for scoring most number of consecutive ducks in Tests along with Australia’s Bob Holland in 1985 and Pakistan’s Mohammad Asif in 2006.

Agarkar, unlike the two others, got out for nought in five consecutive innings (four of those were golden ducks) against the same opponents –Australia — on their soil in 1999-2000.

Not only that, Agarkar’s unique batting performance against the Australians later extended to seven consecutive ducks as he failed to open his account in both the innings of the next match that India played against Australia a year later in Mumbai in 2001.
