Dwayne Bravo’s half-brother Darren Bravo is also an international cricketer. Dwayne is five years older to Darren. Unlike, Bravo, who is an all-rounder, Darren Bravo is a left handed batsman whose batting style is very similar to West Indian great and his distant relative Brain Lara. According to Darren Bravo was motivated by his elder cousin since childhood.

Bravo has been involved in few controversies in his playing career. The most recent one being in 2014, during a tour of India. Bravo was the spokesman for the players during players strike which resulted in the tour being cancelled half way. He was later omitted from the West Indies World Cup squad for the 2015 World Cup.

8. Retirement from test cricket:

He was controversially sacked as the ODI captain in 2014 and was later dropped from the 2015 World Cup squad. Consequently, he announced his retirement from Test cricket on 31^st January 2015. He played his last Test in the year 2010.

Bravo has two children — a daughter and son. During the World Twenty20 in 2014, Bravo changed his jersey number from 47 to 3, because his son was born on October 3, his daughter was born on August 3 and his mother too has her birthday on 3rd.
