16-year-old India cricketer Richa Ghosh donates INR 1 lakh to Bengal Chief Minister's relief fund

Cricketers and Bollywood actors have come out in support of the poor and underprivileged during the 21-day lockdown in the country. Now, Richa Ghosh, the young Indian Woman cricketer has also joined the bandwagon and contributed a sum of INR 1 Lakh to the Bengal Chief Minister’s relief fund in the fight against the Coronavirus outbreak.

COVID-19 forced, the honorable Prime Minister of India to announce a 21-day lockdown in the country. At the moment, things have gone beyond the expectation of human beings and the novel virus is spreading at a very high rate.

Every single individual’s life has become miserable due to the same as it has taken several lives across the globe. So governments have drawn guidelines for everyone to follow in order to stay away from getting infected with Coronavirus. They have asked the people not to go out in social gatherings, maintain social distancing, wash hands frequently and many more.

Richa Ghosh joins the bandwagon

The aforementioned are the precautions to protect everyone from the virus. Meanwhile, there is another picture of India in which many poor and underprivileged are not getting food to eat due to the lockdown in the nation. So, Akshay Kumar, Ratan Tata, Suresh Raina, Gautam Gambhir, Sourav Ganguly and many more have contributed a hefty amount of money for the PM-Care relief funds. They did so to take care of the people, who are unable to get food and other commodities under stiff conditions.

Now, Richa Ghosh, the 16-year-old Indian Woman cricketer has donated an amount of INR 1 Lakhs to the West Bengal Chief Minister’s relief fund. She feels that it is the right time to join hands and fight hard against Coronavirus. Also, being a responsible citizen of the country, it was her duty to contribute in the best possible way.

“When everybody is fighting COVID-19 and the chief minister has appealed for a united battle against it, I thought of contributing a bit as a responsible citizen of the country,” Richa said as quoted by India Today.

Cricket Association of Bengal gave the important update about the contribution of Richa Ghosh through their official Twitter handle. Richa was part of the national side that went onto play in the recently concluded T20 Women’s World Cup. She also got the opportunity to play a couple of games in the mega-event.
