18-year-old Afghanistan spin sensation Mujeeb Ur Rahman gets engaged
The Afghanistan youngster is now all set for a new innings albeit off the field.
Afghanistan star Mujeeb Ur Rahman has been absolutely sensational with his off-spin. Despite being just 18-years old, the off-spinner is seen as one of the best spinners in the world at the moment. At such a young age, he has developed an armory that can trouble the best of the batsmen across the world. The spin sensation bowls traditional off-spins as well as leg-spin and googlies.
What makes him even more special is his ability to bowl with the new ball. More often than not, his teams have used him early in the innings and Mujeeb Ur Rahman has rarely disappointed. It became very clear that he was a special talent when he picked up 7 for 19 against Bangladesh U19 to register the joint second-best best bowling figures in all Youth ODIs.
That performance saw him getting a deal from Bangladesh Premier League side Comilla Victorians while he was just 16. He then starred for Afghanistan in their historic triumph at the Under-19 Asia Cup. Mujeeb Ur Rahman picked up a sensational five-wicket haul to help his country beat Pakistan in the final. Before that, he had picked up a six-wicket haul against Nepal in the semifinal.
He also impressed in the 2018 U19 World Cup as Afghanistan defied all the odds to make it to the semifinal. And it paved the way for a lucrative Indian Premier League contract. Kings XI Punjab splashed a whopping INR 4 crore to secure his services last year as he became just the third Afghanistan player after Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi to play in IPL.
