'2.5 weeks to go' - Jacques Kallis shares pictures of wife's baby bump

Jacques Kallis will is regarded as one of the best all-rounders to have braced the sport. Exquisite batting technique, solid temperament, safe hands and accurate bowling forte– the South African stalwart had everything that any team demands from a modern-day all-rounder.

The legendary all-rounder, in December 2019, was appointed as South Africa’s batting consultant in the wake of an overhaul of CSA. Kallis’ illustrious career was filled up with many runs and wickets which the South African amassed. He played a combined 519 international matches for South Africa with 25,534 runs and 577 wickets across formats. Meanwhile, the all-rounder has been doing well in his personal life too after bidding adieu to his playing career.

The all-rounder got married last year in January with Charlene Engels. The couple tied the knot in January 2019 on an estate in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley near Hermanus. Now, the all-rounder has served his fans with a piece of exciting news as he shared his wife Charlene’s baby bump on Instagram. “Excited to meet you little one! 2.5 Weeks to go,” Kallis captioned the picture while sharing the picture of himself standing with his wife.

Kallis bid farewell to all forms of international cricket in 2014 after scoring 62 international centuries — 45 Test and 17 ODI with a staggering average of 55.37 and 44.36 in each format respectively. Kallis was another eminent name that was added to South Africa’s coaching setup after the appointment of Mark Boucher as head coach in CSA’s attempt to reinforce the South African national side.

Kallis had previously donned the coaching hat for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2015. The 44-year-old took over the coaching duties after the resignation of head coach Trevor Bayliss. Furthermore, Kallis also served as the batting consultant of KKR in the 2015 edition of IPL. It will undoubtedly be a mouthwatering clash when South Africa will tour India for a three-match ODI series starting from 12 March.
