3. Shubman Gill
Touted as the next big thing in Indian cricket, Shubman has impressed everyone in all three formats. The 20-year-old won the Emerging Player award in IPL 2019, thanks to promotion in his batting order from number 7 to opener. As an opener, Shubman scored 236 runs in 6 games at a strike rate of 140.
His impressive performances haven’t been limited only to the IPL. He has delivered back-to-back match-winning knocks in the domestic cricket and India ‘A’ games. He has also received heaps of praises from captain Virat Kohli.
Therefore, one might see him getting a chance in T20Is soon. With an eye on the World Cup, the team management would be looking to test youngsters, and Shubman would be a safe bid to rely upon.
