He got rid of the danger man Dwayne Smith with an arm ball, Smit inside edged it and was bowled. DJ Bravo on the next ball had a huge gap between his bat and pad, he also got an inside edge and the ball deflected into his stumps. Patel got both these wickets on the last two balls of his over, and he came back in his next to induce an outside edge off Ravindra Jadeja to complete his hat-trick. This happens to be the first hat-trick of IPL 9.
