Yuvraj Singh registered the 4th hat trick of the IPL and the first of the second season. Uthappa, Kallis and Boucher succumbed on consecutive deliveries, with Uthappa being caught in the mid wicket region, Kallis getting bowled and Boucher getting out LBW. <p>Kings XI Punjab were playing the Gujarat Lions at Rajkot and very few gave Punjab a chance since they languished at the bottom of the table while Gujarat was at the top. After posting 154 KXIP needed an inspired effort from their bowlers and the lanky left-arm spinner Axar Patel responded to the team’s expectation. He got rid of the danger man Dwayne Smith with an arm ball, Smit inside edged it and was bowled. DJ Bravo on the next ball had a huge gap between his bat and pad, he also got an inside edge and the ball deflected into his stumps. Patel got both these wickets on the last two balls of his over, and he came back in his next to induce an outside edge off Ravindra Jadeja to complete his hat-trick. This happens to be the first hat-trick of IPL 9.</p>

<p><strong><strong>3 in 3; Hat Tricks registered in the IPL: </strong></strong>Taking a hat-trick is one of the many dreams for every bowler. You need a bit of luck and some incredible virtuosity with the ball in order to achieve the remarkable feat of picking up a hat-trick. Not always the best bowlers take hat-tricks, but it comes off in one of those days when everything goes your way and when all your endeavors pay off miraculously. The world&#8217;s most famous cricket league the IPL has seen some memorable and remarkable hat-tricks over the years which have stayed afresh in the minds of all the devout followers of the league. <h4><strong>1. Lakshmipathy Balaji &#8211; CSK:</strong></h4>

<p>CSK is top in most charts in the IPL and this one is no exception as Balaji of CSK was the first bowler to register a hat-trick in the IPL against KXIP. The victims in this case were Irfan Pathan, Piyush Chawla and VRV Singh all three were caught by the CSK fielders. Balaji also achieved a fifer in that match and gave away just 24 runs in his brilliant spell.</p>

<p>The Delhi Daredevils leggie picked up a hat-trick in the penultimate over of the match against the Deccan Chargers with both Ravi Teja and Ojha getting caught in the deep and RP Singh getting stumped out.</p>

<p>The South African pacer took a wonderful hat-trick against the Knight Riders. The casualties were Sourav Ganguly, Das and David Hussey. Das was caught in the deep while Ganguly and Hussey saw their stumps behind them rattled.</p>

<p>Yuvraj Singh registered the 4th hat trick of the IPL and the first of the second season. Uthappa, Kallis and Boucher succumbed on consecutive deliveries, with Uthappa being caught in the mid wicket region, Kallis getting bowled and Boucher getting out LBW. But unfortunately despite his hat trick RCB defeated KXIP.</p>

<p>Rohit Sharma of the Deccan Chargers took three wickets in three balls against his future team the Mumbai Indians. He rattled the stumps of Abishek Nayar and Harbhajan Singh and JP Duminy was caught by the wicket keeper.</p>

<p>The street smart RCB swing bowler became the 6th bowler to take a hat trick in the IPL. He got the wickets of Damien Martyn, Sumit Narwal and Paras Dogra in succession and registered the first hat trick of IPL 2010. Damien Martyn and Dogra got their stumps battered while Dogra was caught out.</p>

<p>Amit Mishra yet again wrote his name deeper into the history books as he registered his second hat trick in a do or die game against Punjab. Ryan McLaren, Mandeep Singh and Ryan Harris fell to the excellent spin bowling of Amit Mishra who with his occasional googlies and arm-balls proved to be a very dangerous bowler.</p>

<p>Ajit Chandila was a relatively unknown player before this match. Rahul Dravid even forgot his name at the toss. But he became popular overnight after he took a stupendous hat trick against PWI dismissing Ryder, Ganguly and Uthappa in succession.
