2. Josh Hazlewood
One of the finest bowlers in the Test format for Australia, Josh Hazlewood is gradually doing well in the T20 format as well. In IPL 2021, Hazlewood featured for CSK and picked up 11 wickets in nine appearances at an economy of 8.37. He served as strong support to Chahar and the team to keep the opposition under pressure.
In the final of the last edition, he returned with figures of 2/29 off his four overs, he took the wickets of dangerous T20 batter Eoin Morgan and Sunil Narine. His spell was one of the reasons behind CSK securing their fourth IPL title. After the tournament, Hazlewood scalped 11 wickets in seven matches of the ICC T20 World Cup and played a key role in Australia’s maiden T20 World Cup win.
The teams like DC, MI, RCB, LSG, and CSK expressed interest in bidding for the Australian pacer. However, RCB won the contest against MI for a price of INR 7.75 crores. In IPL 2022, Hazlewood has been terrific with 10 wickets in five appearances at an economy of 7.15, he has picked up wickets in the powerplay as well as death overs.
