3. Sam Curran
Sam Curran burst onto the scene with his all-round skills against India in the Test series last year. He changed the course of the game with his bat and impressed everyone with his swinging deliveries. The 21-year-old was recently selected for the T20 series in New Zealand where he picked 6 wickets at an economy of 8.5.
Kings XI Punjab grabbed Sam for a hefty price of 7.2 crores in the auction last year. He scalped 10 wickets in 9 games including a hat-trick against Delhi Capitals. The left-hander is a handy lower-order batsman as he stroked at 172 including a half-century for KXIP. He has become a red hot commodity as a seam-bowling all-rounder.
It came in as a bit of surprise when Punjab released Sam Curran, maybe they would want to buy him back at a lower price. But the auction pool gives all the teams an opportunity to buy him as well. Especially RCB, who released both Marcus Stoinis and Colin de Grandhomme, could bid for the English all-rounder. CSK will also dive into bidding war for Curran as Watson doesn’t bowl anymore and Dwayne Bravo isn’t getting younger either.
