Krunal Pandya might be the elder brother of Hardik Pandya, but he came into the limelight 1 year after Hardik. Mumbai Indians snapped up the left-handed all-rounder in the 2016 auction. By this time, Bumrah and Hardik had already played for India.

Krunal is that sort of a player, who is never out of the game. If he had a bad game with the bat, he will deliver with the ball. If he failed with the ball as well, he will surely take a crucial catch. Just like his brother, he performs under pressure.

Krunal Pandya was bought by Mumbai Indians in the 2016 IPL auction for 2 crore INR. He didn’t take much time to earn his place in the limelight as he hit a belligerent 86 off 37 balls against Delhi Daredevils in his debut season. Mumbai might have had an off year in 2016, but Krunal managed to impress the coaching staff as he scored 200+ runs and also contributed with a few wickets. This was a great sign for things to come in the future.

His best batting output came in the 2017 campaign as he scored 243 runs, which included an important 47 in a low scoring final against Rising Pune Supergiants. His all-round ability earned himself a place in the national T20 setup. Krunal has played 18 times for India in T20I matches. His international career hasn’t had many outstanding moments but his never-give-up attitude and hard-working nature will be the key in his future endeavours.

He picked up 4 wickets against Australia after being tonked for 55 runs in the previous match which shows the mentality of the man. Krunal is now one of the first names on the team sheet for Mumbai Indians and he will be hoping to perform in a similar fashion for India and soon receive call ups for ODIs as well.
