England’s Test batting line-up is not the strongest in the world even with Ben Stokes in it. Now without the talismanic all-rounder, Joe Root and his team looks like a tattered batting line-up and the 43.1 overs that they batted proved it.

The conditions were hostile for batting and Pakistan bowlers were bowling some good line and length. But still, the English batsmen, at home, are expected to do well irrespective of the situation. The score of 110 for 4 certainly doesn’t suggest that their batsmen are in good form.

Ben Stokes is their best Test batsman and without him, the England batting is vulnerable. Joe Root has been out of form for a while now and if he doesn’t click in the next match, then the hosts may find themselves in deep trouble.
