One of the biggest mysteries of the Indian Premier League has been the question how the Royal Challengers Bangalore have not won a single edition of the IPL even after having so many great T20 players in their team over the years. They have made it to the finals of the IPL thrice , but haven’t been able to win the tournament.

Even last year, it had seemed midway into the IPL that RCB could just make their dream come true, but unfortunately, they couldn’t make it any further than the Eliminator match in the playoffs. With the IPL 2021 starting in April, there are some fans and pundits who are betting on RCB to take the title this time around.

The squad which they have selected for this year has some really good players and backed with the experience of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, RCB looks to have a pretty good bunch of players.

1. Decent back-ups for certain positions

One of the things which RCB struggled with during the last season of IPL, was the balance of the side. With a good top order, what the team essentially needed was a good solid middle and lower order to compliment it. However, this season, it seems they have sorted that issue, especially the addition of players like Daniel Christian and Daniel Sams.

Both the players have ample amounts of capabilities with the bat and the ball. Christian has almost been a veteran of the T20 format and is returning to the franchise after playing for them in 2014. In recent years, he has been a regular feature in the leagues around the globe and has won championships in England, West Indies, Australia and South Africa.

Daniel Sams is a terrific talent who has the ability to play the role of a frontline pacer. His BBL record is tremendous and he is a destructive batsman, who can help RCB get the right balance from a No.7. Apart from that, they have got some decent backup players for almost every position. This year, Kohli could be able to find players putting their hand up whenever he needs to change the combinations.
