Compared to Maharashtra, Karnataka is in a much better state as far as the coronavirus cases are concerned. It’s sixth in the list of most affected states in India, having garnered over 51,000 positive cases with the death toll well over 1,000. The state was doing a reasonable job until recently when the cases have seen quite a decent spike.

As far as the IPL is concerned, Karnataka can play hosts. The M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore has been hosting IPL games since the 2008 edition.

Despite home team Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) poor show, the crowds have swarmed the stadiums. There’s also a KSCA Stadium in Alur, which has hosted domestic matches. Hence, if precautionary measures are taken, then Karnataka can well go on to host the cash-rich event.
