1. Kings XI Punjab

Kings XI will have a lot of work to do at the auction as they have to fill 5 overseas slots out of a total of 9 empty slots. They finished 6th on the points table, and it was largely due to a solid winning streak during the business end of the tournament. The Punjab-based team has a couple of vacant slots in the middle-order after releasing Glenn Maxwell and Jimmy Neesham.
Shakib Al Hasan could be a very useful option for them as he can fit in at either No.4 or No.5. He would pretty much be a direct swap for Maxwell, and Kings XI would certainly have him on their short-list ahead of the mini-auction.
He would provide a bit of variety in their bowling attack as both Murugan Ashwin and Ravi Bishnoi are leg spinners, while Shakib is a finger spinner. Kings XI haven’t had the best of times with overseas signings in the recent past and buying a consistent performer like the Bangladesh all-rounder wouldn’t be the worst thing to do.
