Termed as one of the best captains in the history of the game; apart from his cricketing feats Ricky Ponting has also been known for his foundation, called the Ponting Foundation which helps those suffering from cancer. Noting his contributions on and off the field, the Australian government, in 2012 conferred him with the honour of Officer in the general division of the Order of Australia.

Having played in the era of Sir Don Bradman, this English cricketer is often regarded as one of the best English cricketers of the 20th century. He was awarded Knighthood in 1996.

9 – Lala Amarnath

He was the first test captain of Independent India and also the first Indian to score a century in Test Cricket. He won the highly prestigious Padma Bhushan award in 1991.
