The T20 extravaganza in Australia Big Bash League (BBL) culminated with Adelaide Strikers winning the tournament by defeating Hobart Hurricanes in a close encounter. It was the maiden title for the Strikers who were lead by the young Travis Head and managed to win in their first appearance in the final. However, amidst all the action down under, the franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL) had their eyes on the performance of few players from India.

As it turned out in the IPL auction last week, a lot of young Australian players received their maiden contracts in the cash-rich T20 league. It was the result of their consistent show that some of the players were bought by the teams for the whopping amounts. The world will have their eyes on them when they will walk out on the field in April in India.

Here we take a look at the five star players in BBL to watch out for in the IPL:

D’Arcy Short was, in a way, the find of the BBL as he was consistent throughout the 11 matches for Hobart Hurricanes while opening the innings. He also earned the Australia cap in the shortest format of the game and is set to play more for the country in the ongoing tri-series against England and New Zealand. His authoritative batting helped Hobart win most of the matches and even in the final, he scored a valiant knock of 68 runs off just 44 deliveries with 6 fours and 4 maximums.

Short was also the highest run-getter of the BBL scoring 572 runs in 11 matches at an amazing average of 57.20. His strike rate o 148.57 was simply superb and smashed four half-centuries and a solitary hundred. Rajasthan Royals signed him for a whopping amount of Rs 3.4 Crore after an intense bidding war. Surely he would love to repay the faith in him and bat with the same aggression in the IPL.
