We are all well aware that Test matches takes place in the peak time of office hours between 10 am to 5 pm. It restricts the outflow of many spectators from flooding the ground. It also adversely affects the television viewership of the matches. But, as the day-night test matches starts from the afternoon, it will add new dimensions and colours to the game. It will be possible for spectators to relish the live action on the field, which will surround a carnival like atmosphere under the lights. Cricket Australia (CA) had also asserted that increased number of spectators on the ground was one of the main reasons behind the advent of day-night test matches. While, CA also considers that such an interesting concept will help in boosting TV ratings, which are a must for the survival and prosperity of test match cricket.
