But a middle-order collapse meant MS Dhoni was at the crease a lot earlier than expected. He joined Sachin Tendulkar in the middle who was playing well amidst the fall of wickets. Dhoni had a huge task cut out in front of him as playing out the balls wasn’t an option.</p>
<p>The duo composed the innings well and played beautifully adding 177 runs for the seventh wicket. During his stay, MS hit 9 fours and no sixes. His contribution went in vain as India faltered after the loss of his wicket. Dhoni&#8217;s crucial knock was once again overshadowed. Master blaster hit the 50th Test century of his career. They lost the match by an innings and 25 runs. India went onto win the second Test while the third ended in a draw.</p>

<p>After missing the first Test, MS returned to the team in the second and final Test against Bangladesh. He came into bat after the fall of Sachin Tendulkar’s wicket. He joined Murali Vijay in the middle. The stage was set for a big score as the top order had laid a solid platform. Dhoni scored 89 with 9 fours and 2 big sixes.</p>
<p>It was a rather slow knock but he spent enough time in the middle batting for nearly 3 hours. The tail enders extended enough support to the skipper. His innings helped India post a mammoth score of 544.</p>
<p>It ensured them had a good lead and India had to chase just 2 runs in the second innings. This Test match was a good one for Zaheer Khan who bagged 10 wickets. India won the match by 10 wickets with that whitewashing the series 2-0.</p>

<p>After losing the first Test, Indians were keen to bounce back in the series. They got off to a good start with the bat thanks to a valuable 99 from Virender Sehwag and a century from Suresh Raina on his debut.</p>
<p>MSD walked to the crease at the fall of Raina’s wicket. He joined Tendulkar who was not out for 100 odd runs. He had to prove a point as he had failed to score in the first match. Dhoni played a careful yet controlled inning against Hearth &amp; co. He hit 9 fours in his knock of 76 with a strike rate just above 50.</p>
<p>He was expected to support Sachin and he did just that. The match eventually ended in a draw. This result ensured that the final Test was a worthy one where India won the match and with that leveled the series.</p>
