After losing the first Test, Indians were keen to bounce back in the series. They got off to a good start with the bat thanks to a valuable 99 from Virender Sehwag and a century from Suresh Raina on his debut.

MSD walked to the crease at the fall of Raina’s wicket. He joined Tendulkar who was not out for 100 odd runs. He had to prove a point as he had failed to score in the first match. Dhoni played a careful yet controlled inning against Hearth & co. He hit 9 fours in his knock of 76 with a strike rate just above 50.

He was expected to support Sachin and he did just that. The match eventually ended in a draw. This result ensured that the final Test was a worthy one where India won the match and with that leveled the series.
