2. Lack of all-format players
As compared previously, team India had a set of players who used to represent the national team across all three formats of the game. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, MS Dhoni, Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh used to play in all three formats of the game.
However, the scenario has changed in the current Indian line-up. Team India has set of players for across all three formats of the game. For instance: Shikhar Dhawan has not played for India in Tests and T20Is for long, but he continues to be one of the regular features in the ODI squad.
