5. Keeping Navdeep Saini in benches
Nothing can deny that Navdeep Saini has lost the plot in the last few months. The right-arm pacer possesses great potential as he can clock good speeds alongside swinging the ball. Nailing pinpoint yorkers and vicious bouncers are also within his reach. He even seemed to have cemented his place in India’s limited-overs team. However, things changed this year.
He surprisingly wasn’t picked in RCB’s first-choice playing XI initial half of the season. He played just one game and conceded 27 off two overs against Chennai Super Kings. Hence, not many eyebrows will be raised if Saini continues to stay on the sidelines in the UAE leg. However, Kohli and the team management must bring the pacer into the picture.
With the UAE grounds having big dimensions, Saini’s challenge will be easier. Also, his wicket-taking ability can help RCB. Hence, RCB must show faith in the young speedster and utilize him in the UAE leg.
