2. Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh)
Popularly known as the city of Nawabs, Lucknow stands to be the capital city of the most populous state in India. The state with a rich history has given birth to cricketers that have gone up to make a remarkable name in Indian cricket. Prominent cricketers like Suresh Raina, Piyush Chawla, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Mohammad Kaif have come up from the state of UP.
As per some sources, a group of businessmen from the Lucknow-Kanpur range are in a way of buying an IPL team. They are in touch with former BCCI administrator and have had support from their end. If things go well in line, a team can definitely be on the table from the city of Lucknow.
Lucknow hosted its first-ever T20I game against West Indies in November 2018. And the event was welcomed by the fans of the city crazily in its new stadium. With Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and Green Park in Kanpur, which has hosted several international outings, the state seems ready for its IPL team.
