The incident took place at The Gabba in Brisbane during the match against Zimbabwe on January 20, 2004. Dravid was caught by the TV cameras rubbing a cough lozenge on the shiny side of the white ball.

<p>Also, a video had recently had <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/video-of-sourav-gangulys-heated-conversation-with-rahul-dravid-and-greg-chappell-goes-viral/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>gone viral</strong></a> before one of the matches when Ganguly was involved in a heated conversation with Dravid and Chappell before one of the matches. Moroever, the Prince of Kolkata had gone on record to state that Dravid didn&#8217;t have courage to revolt against Chappell then.</p>
<p>&#8220;Because of Greg Chappell, the dressing room was divided. Rahul Dravid is the type of person who wants everything to go smoothly. He knew that things were going wrong, but he had no courage to revolt and tell him (Chappell) that he was doing wrong,&#8221; Ganguly had said in an interview.</p>
<p>However, all is well now as both the legendary cricketers are working for the betterment of the Indian cricket. While Ganguly is the BCCI President, Dravid is the head coach of at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).</p>

<h3>3. Ball tampering incident in 2004</h3>

<p>Rahul Dravid was caught changing the condition of the ball during the VB Series in Australia during the 2003-04 season. The incident took place at The Gabba in Brisbane during the match against Zimbabwe on January 20, 2004. Dravid was caught by the TV cameras rubbing a cough lozenge on the shiny side of the white ball.</p>
<p>The incident was reported to the match referee Clive Lloyd by the third umpire Peter Parker. However, the on-field umpires Steve Davis and Rudi Koertzen didn&#8217;t press any charges against him. But with the evidence on camera going against, Lloyd decided to take action against Dravid under clause 2.10 of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/you-guys-have-really-lost-the-plot-james-neesham-reacts-after-icc-asks-to-find-virat-kohli-in-their-post/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>ICC</strong></a>&#8216;s code of conduct. The coach John Wright, however, had backed him later stating that it was unintentional from Dravid.</p>
<p>As far as the match is concerned, he had top-scored for India scoring 84 off 106 deliveries as the team ended up posting 255 runs on the board batting first. Zimbabwe, in response, could only reach 231 before getting bowled out in the 48th over of the innings.</p>
<h3>4. Getting dropped in 2007 and then for CB series in 2008</h3>

<p>Rahul Dravid was retained as the skipper of the Indian team despite the disastrous 2007 World Cup campaign. The team had fared decently as well post the tournament on England tour. But then the man stepped down from the helm and that brought a screeching halt to his ODI series.</p>
<p>MS Dhoni was named the ODI captain of the team and Dravid was dropped from the team for the home series against Pakistan. It was a surprising decision for many as he was the captain of the team not long ago. Moreover, the main controversy was yet to arrive as the likes of Sourav Ganguly and <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/14-march-2001-when-vvs-laxman-and-rahul-dravid-battled-the-odds-to-script-a-renaissance-for-the-ages/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>VVS Laxman</strong></a> were also sidelined for the CB Series in Australia in 2008.</p>
<p>While the furore was about Ganguly being dropped, Dravid was also the crucial part of the ODI team until and this marked a change in era in the Indian cricket as the Men in Blue created history winning their first ever tri-series down under. Interestingly, Dravid also marked his comeback into the team for the Champions Trophy in 2009.</p>
<h3>5. IPL spot-fixing scandal in 2013 when Rahul Dravid was RR skipper</h3>

<p>The IPL spot-fixing scandal in 2013 rocked the Indian cricket severely. Three Rajasthan Royals players, Ajit Chandila, Ankeet Chavan and the 2011 World Cup-winner <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/s-sreesanth-opens-up-on-his-chances-of-playing-for-india-again/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>S Sreesanth</strong></a> were accused of spot fixing. And soon after the game against the Mumbai Indians, all three were arrested by the police and the captain of the team Rahul Dravid was literally shocked to know the series of events.</p>
<p>Rather, in a statement given to the Delhi Police, according to the Times of India, he had said that he felt cheated by his teammates while also clarifying that he never had any doubt on the players. &#8220;I never had any doubt about these players. I used to select players on a match-to-match basis,&#8221; Dravid had said in his statement.</p>
<p>However, the Royals&#8217; performance didn&#8217;t affect in the tournament as they made it to the playoffs and lost to Mumbai Indians in the second qualifier.</p>

Despite all of this, Rahul Dravid has managed to carve out a page for himself in the Indian cricket's rich history. Rather he is one of the most
