5. Ravindra Jadeja’s sword celebration:
India’s premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has always been a colorful character on the cricket field ever since his debut and has been in the headlines recently for his warrior-like celebrations after reaching a Test fifty.
Jadeja first did the celebratory jig during India’s famous win against England at Lord’s during their 2014 tour. His fifty in that Test ensured India registered a sensational victory over England at the Mecca of Cricket after 28 years.
Jadeja did the move again when he scored a quickfire half-century against New Zealand during their recent Test series. As Kohli was about to declare the innings, the dashing Saurashtra lad’s sword was out yet again. With his fancy moves, he enthralled the Kanpur crowd and triggered smiles in his own dressing room.
Jadeja was the Man of the Match during India’s most recent victory against England at Mohali. He scored a match-winning 90 to set up the platform for a famous win and yet again celebrated his fifty in his own unique style. One might wonder what would have been the style of celebration if Jadeja had managed to score his maiden Test century.
