In 2007, during the ICC T20 World Cup, Joginder Sharma became a national hero and a household name when he bowled the final over against Pakistan in the final. He helped India win the World Cup. But, unfortunately, Joginder Sharma never played for India after that match. However, his performances in the semi-final and final will always remain significant as it helped the country win the ICC event.

After playing a lot of cricket for Haryana at the domestic level, Joginder Sharma got a job in Haryana police. He is the District Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Haryana Police. Recently, during the COVID-19 crisis, a picture of him helping people in need was seen on the internet.

It also showed that the cricketer is not only a great sporting hero but also a real-life hero as he was trying to help patients get to the right hospital and helping the people across Haryana for a secure time during the COVID-19 crisis. Rather he also went on to say that helping the nation during this pandemic is more important than the World Cup win.
