In May 2017, the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/pcb-turned-down-babar-azams-request-to-pick-mohammad-hafeez-and-shoaib-malik-for-australia-t20i-series/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)</a> banned all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz for two months. Moreover, he was also slapped with approximately $2,000 fine after he failed to disclose an approach by a bookie. The PCB charged Nawaz with a single violation of Article 2.4.4 of the anti-corruption code.
The cricketer accepted the charges against him. He agreed that he failed to disclose the fixing approach within time to the board&#8217;s Vigilance and Security department. During this period, his central contract with the board was also suspended.
After Mohammad Irfan, Nawaz was the second cricketer to be banned during that period of time due to the similar charges. After the ban, Nawaz resumed playing cricket. He last represented <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/cricket-teams/pakistan/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Pakistan</a> at the highest level in an ODI game against Sri Lanka recently. This series also marked the return of ODI cricket to Pakistan.
