5. Misbah-ul-Haq’s fastest Test century
The fans will be shocked to know that Misbah ul Haq, former Pakistan skipper holds the record for smashing the fastest century in Test cricket. It is a surprising fact given that he doesn’t have even a single century in the ODIs and was called ‘Tuk-Tuk’ batsman by the fans due to his batting approach. Misbah ended his career a strike rate of 44.53 in Tests, 73.75 in ODIs and 110.20 in T20Is. But in the 2nd Test of the two-match series in 2014, he ended up with a strike rate of 177.19.
He took charge against Aussie bowlers from the word go. Misbah smacked the opponent bowlers all across the park. In the end, he managed to pull off an inning that no one had expected from him, not at least in Tests. He scored a 56-ball ton studded with 11 boundaries and five sixes against one of the best teams in the world.
His swashbuckling knock helped him in becoming joint-fastest Test centurion with Sir Viv Richards. In that game, Pakistan defeated Australia by 356 runs.
