2. Yuvraj Singh
There may not be any other player who has attracted as much attention as Yuvraj Singh in the history of the IPL. Every time he has been in the IPL auction (before 2018), he has invariably got high bids. In fact, for two back to back years, he broke the record to become the highest-paid cricketer in the auctions (2014 and 2015).
In 2014, it was RCB who bought him for INR 14 crore. The southpaw from Punjab played all 14 games that season and amassed 376 runs at an average of 32.90 and a strike-rate of 135.95. However, despite having a good season, Yuvraj was let go, mainly because of his price tag. In 2015, Delhi bought him for INR 16 crore.
In 2016, it was SRH who scalped him for INR 7 crore. And it was in that very year, Yuvraj went on to become an ‘IPL Champion’ with the Hyderabad side. In fact, SRH won the final by beating RCB itself. Hence, despite changing teams frequently, Yuvraj managed to have an ‘IPL winners’ tag once in his career.
