Eoin Morgan’s journey in One Day International cricket started off with him representing the Ireland cricket team that made it into the Super Six stage of the 2007 ICC Cricket World Cup and really saw its high point with him being in the England Cricket Team’s dressing room.

The front runner of England’s transition after the 2015 World Cup, leading them to an eventual win in the 2019 edition of the tournament as a captain and a player, Morgan’s rise in international cricket in recent times has been in tandem with his team’s rise too.

The holder of distinction of being one of the only few players to have played in the World Cup for 2 different teams, Morgan has been the leader of change in the true sense. He played in 187 games for the team in the last decade, and his impact could be felt in the way England performed as they won 105 of those, losing 84 matches.

The way Morgan performed in the format during the last 10 years, winning England the World Cup for the first time, it was really unfortunate on his part to have missed out on not being included in the ICC Men’s ODI team of the decade. And, the way he is, it must not have affected him much and he would be focussing on preparing himself and his team for the upcoming tour of India.
