Former Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar also never endorsed alcohol or tobacco. He set an example for many other cricketers from around the world by rejecting a massive brand deal in 2010. According to a spokesperson from World Sports Group (WSG) who looked after Sachin’s brand associations, this would have been the highest-ever deal for an Indian sportsperson had it been clinched.

In 2015, Sachin himself revealed that he never tried to promote an alcohol or tobacco brand. “One thing my father told me try not to promote tobacco and alcohol. So those are the two things I stayed away from,” he revealed at an event. The ‘Master Blaster’ must have got many other offers in his nearly two-and-half decade long career but he never fell into the bait called money.
