5 Cricketers who played alongside most players in International Cricket
Here are the top 5 individuals who played with most number of players in International Cricket.
4. Shoaib Malik – 136 players
Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik has played alongside a total of 136 players till date in International Cricket which is the 4th highest by any individual. Malik’s tally could see a hike if he continues to represent Pakistan after the COVID-19 impact. Malik appeared in only 435 International games across 20 years but playing with a huge number of players was possible as Pakistan’s selections kept changing in the last two decades.
Unlike the other players in the top-5 list, a decent share of Malik’s teammates have been from the T20I format. Shoaib Malik played with as many as 105 players in the 287 ODIs; the 10th most number of teammates for any player in this format. However, Malik holds the record for playing alongside the most number of players during the T20 International matches.
Shoaib Malik has played with a record total of 87 players during the 113 T20I appearances. Malik is also the most capped T20I cricket when it comes to Men’s cricket. He was part of the World XI against West Indies in a T20I at the Lord’s where he played alongside nine players for the first time. Thisara Perera (83 players) and Tamim Iqbal (79 players), who occupy 2nd and 3rd places in T20I lists, were also part of the Charity T20I game.
