The Indian team did pretty well at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020. The side reached their first final and but unfortunately defeated by the hosts Australia. The team led by Harmanpreet Kaur didn’t even lose a single match until the final.

During the course of the tournament, India found a new champion batswoman. The 16-year-old Shafali Verma was in top form during the tournament. She ended up being the highest run-getter for the Indian side. It was quite unbelievable that at this tender age, she was able to take on the best bowlers in the world and hit them out of the park.

However, in a recent interview, she revealed that apart from playing international cricket, also intends to continue her studies. She had said that she had to miss her class 10th examination due to an important U23 cricket tournament, but she intends to give the exam the upcoming year.
